On Friday, February 27^th, 2025, the annual New Year's cake (Vasilopita) cutting of the Athens MBA Alumni Association was held at Noel in Athens. The event was an excellent opportunity for the Athens MBA community to meet, reconnect with old peers, and create new professional connections.

During the event, interesting discussions took place in a welcoming atmosphere and participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss, and network professionally.

Athens MBA Alumni and the Management of the program that supported the event warmly thank the members of the Athens MBA community.

We look forward to similar events in the future!

In February 2025, the Director of Athens MBA, Associate Professor Helen Salavou, participated in the annual entrepreneurship conference, Australasian Consortium for Entrepreneurship Research Excellence 2025, in Melbourne, Australia. During the ACERE 2025 conference, the dialogue involved globally recognized academics in entrepreneurship at Deakin University (see picture 1).

On 26 January 2025, PMI Greece Chapter has scheduled an event on "Elevating Project Management Impact in a Changing World". The official guest and speaker at the event was the Deputy Director of AthensMBA Mr. Konstantinos Kirytopoulos.
The event was a unique opportunity for knowledge exchange and networking, bringing together professionals and students in the field of project management.

The continuous evolution of the industry and new challenges for project management were at the heart of the discussion, reinforcing the need for ongoing education and development. 

Special thanks for the presence of the Rector of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) Mr. Ioannis Chatjigeorgiou, as well as the Deputy Director of the Athens MBA program, Professor of NTUA Mr. Konstantinos Kirytopoulos.

Moreover, we were particularly pleased that graduates and students of the AthensMBA department actively participated in the event, strengthening the connection between the academic community and professionals in the industry. 

We thank the PMI Greece Chapter for a wonderful event and for the opportunity to learn and network with leading industry professionals!

In the Project & Program Management course with Mr. Konstantinos Kirittopoulos as professor, the students of the AthensMBA had the opportunity to welcome executives of the Project Management Office of Hellenic Cables. 

The topic of the presentation was "Project Management as a Determinant of Success in Large and Complex Technical Projects".

In particular, it was presented how project management is applied to different types and sizes of projects. Especially when it comes to large technical, hyper-complex projects, project management is the difference between success and failure and the key to value creation. 

Many thanks to Mr. Artemios Makris (PMO Director Hellenic Cables), Mr. Christos Panagiotopoulos (Head of Project Controls Hellenic Cables) and Ms. Anastasia Foroulis (Hellenic Cables and graduate of the School of Mechanical Engineering - NTUA), who presented in detail the Project Management System of Hellenic Cables.

The article titled "Assessing the Economic Feasibility of Li-ion Batteries Storage Systems for Electricity Arbitrage: A Case Study of the Greek Energy Market" addresses the sustainability of lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery energy storage systems in the Greek energy market. The analysis attempts to shed light on the possibilities and challenges of a "greener" energy landscape.

This work was completed as part of Mr. Miliarakis's thesis for AthensMBA, with Professor Tsakanikas as supervisor.

We are pleased to announce that the Athens MBA has been accredited by the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education!

The accreditation is the result of the long-standing collaboration between two leading Universities in Greece, our postgraduate program of superior value to our students and the joint efforts of academic and administrative staff.

On behalf of the Director and the Board, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who made this possible!

Eleftheria Ioanna Xagorari, a member of the Administrative Staff, attended the first joint event of the AthensMBAers (Classes of 2023-25 & 2024-26). Ms. Xagorari had also come up with the idea shortly before the period of elective course declarations and exams to suggest to the student community that they get to meet each other.

The students embraced this proposal and planned their outing, with a significant number attending.

Thus, at the end of their classes, on Friday November 1^st 2024, the first and second year students met at a venue in Kypseli and spent a beautiful evening together. It was an opportunity to relax from study pressure, get to know their peers better, and create memories.

On Friday, October 18^th the second-year students of the Athens MBA Inter-Institutional Inter-Departmental Postgraduate Program had the opportunity to welcome executives of KAFKAS S.A. as part of the Business Strategy course taught by Associate Professor Giorgos Papagiannakis.

With a focus on topics such as electrification, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance), AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Services, the students exchanged views and ideas with Mr. Konstantinos Kanellakis (Industrial Solutions & e-Mobility Senior Manager) regarding the challenges and opportunities of the modern business environment.
